Our Story

Born within the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music of Rome, the Concertando Festival in Rome wanted to be something that was missing in the Eternal City: a moment of encounter between great artists who want to share an intense and close week of common work, exchange of ideas and sharing with students and the public, having moreover the possibility and the good fortune of being able to create, with a large number of artists present, programs that are less usual in their structure and in their complexity.

Now in its eighth edition, the festival has seen performances of more usual pieces in the chamber repertoire as well as premieres or more particular compositions that are more difficult to find on the national scene.

Great attention has always been paid to contemporary music: in fact, a guest composer is present every year, as well as performances by young composers who are students of the Institute.
Another strong point of this event is the meeting between artists and future artists: the festival has always seen the presence of a large number of students who have received lessons or even participated in chamber groups for the performance of some important pieces of the chamber repertoire.

Everything takes place in locations that are part of the most historic part of the city. Immersed in the beauty and value of art in a broader sense, the Concertando Festival lets itself be permeated by the artistic wealth of a city that has no equal for its cultural heritage.

The engine and creator of this little journey that takes place every year, both for artists and for the public, inĀ this magical week is Claudio Trovajoli, who, since the first edition in 2014, has taken care of and supervisedĀ every aspect of his realization.
